Glamping in Carmel. Saddle Mountain Ranch, RV, and Campground (Copy)

For the last 5 years for my husband’s birthday, we would always go to some tropical place, but this year decided to do something different and local. We absolutely love the outdoors and nature, but both don’t really camping because of all the hustle with tents, dirt, packing a bunch of stuff, and unpacking after, so when we found this glamping site in Carmel-By-The-Sea we knew we had to check it out!  As someone who doesn’t enjoy or like camping, I found a place that I would actually like to come back to!

“Glamping” means you don’t need to bring all your camping supplies. You get to sleep in a luxurious tent with everything provided!

Let me introduce you to Saddle Mountain Ranch, RV, and Campground. They are located on 89 acres of forest land off Camel Valley Road, just 5 miles from HWY 1. Nestled within oaks, Monterey pines, and redwoods, Saddle Mountain offers a great peaceful getaway for those seeking a break from the bustle of life.

What is included at your Luxary Tent:

  • Plush comfortable beds with linens

  • Heated Blanket

  • BBQ/chairs and a propane burning fire pit

  • Electric & wifi deck in the campground

  • Short walk to restrooms/hot showers

  • Includes all campground amenities

  • Saddle’s exclusive hiking trail

The thing I was most excited about was the heated blanket, because I am alwaaays cold and the blanket was such a lifesaver!

There’s a parking spot right next to your tent, or you can park your car right in front of it ( depending on which tent you get)

Some other things that you can find in the property are :

  • Hot Showers

  • Kitchen Sink

  • Seasonally heated pool ( May- October )

  • Playground

  • Horseshoe and some other games

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was wondering if there are bears in Big Sur, and after doing my research, turns out that there are! There have been a few spotted over the years. So take basic bear precautions, keep food close at hand, make noise when you hike, and be aware of your surroundings!

How was the weather?

We went on November 4th, and the weather was perfect! But I would suggest checking the weather and making sure you have a sweater with you.

Close to “Civilization “

Another great thing about this place is that it’s super close to the restaurants and beaches! We love to spend time at Carmel beach when we are in the area, so the location is perfect!

A few other beaches that are not too far are:

  • Carmel Meadows Beach

  • Pfeiffer Beach

  • Monterey State Beach

Some of the places to eat around that I recommend are:

  • Coffee/ Bakery - Lafayette Bakery & Cafe Address: 3659 The Barnyard e22, Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA 93923

  • Dinner- Portabella Address: Ocean Ave, Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA 93921

  • Breakfast - From Scratch Restaurant Address: 3626 The Barnyard Building C, Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA 93923

Is it Family Friendly?

Yes, it is. We went without kids, but there was a playground and a lot of places for kids to play and have fun. I can’t say much about RVs and Cabins there, because we didn’t get to experience it, but the Luxury Tent Experience was amazing!
